Organic Kesar Mango also called Gir Kesar mango is a cultivar that is commonly grown in the foothills of Girnar in India. It has a vibrant orange color when sliced open and is among the most famous varieties of mango. This variety was grown in 1931 by Junagadh Wazir. Fun fact, the Nawab of Junagadh Muhammad Mahabat Khan III said “This is Kesar” and that's where the mango got its name. Kesar is saffron in Hindi which is exactly how the color of the mango is. Kesar mango is cultivated on a 20,000-hectare land approximately, in Gujarat. The variety is commonly produced in April. It is one of the most expensive fruits to exist.
